R&D FOR THE INTEGRATION OF COMPONENTS INTO SMART PRODUCTS
SMARTPROD
Motivation
The textile sector is moving towards high value‑added solutions through the development of products with innovative functionalities that directly improve people’s quality of life. In this context, smart textiles have become a key element, as they enable traditional materials to be enhanced with advanced capabilities such as biometric monitoring, interaction with the environment, increased comfort and improved user safety.
This project arises in response to the growing demand for functional products in areas such as sports, fashion, the workplace and interior design, as well as to the need to introduce innovation into the home, where upholstery, curtains or carpets can incorporate sensors capable of detecting falls, presence or activity. In addition, the industrial potential of these developments, together with advances in flexible electronics and functional materials, facilitates the integration of aesthetic, discreet and durable sensors suitable for users with diverse needs.

Objectives
To research and develop methodologies for the effective and long‑lasting integration of smart elements into finished textile products, with applications in sectors such as workwear, sportswear, fashion and home textiles.
Expected results
