RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF SMART TEXTILES FOR GAMIFICATION
GAMIFY III
Motivation
Immersive reality technologies have crossed over from the gamer world and are now establishing themselves as a useful technology for practical life. In fact, some major brands in the industry are already developing devices which use virtual reality as a part of everyday life.
Smart textiles are now well-established in immersive experiences in virtual, augmented and mixed reality for sport and leisure activities. In addition to these uses, smart textiles exhibit great potential for cognitive training for the disabled and the elderly user.

Objectives
the main objective of the project is the development of smart textiles that enhance performance and assist the user during the use of immersive reality technologies for sports training, cognitive training and a recreational role using gamification solutions.
TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES:
- To study the state of the art: growth, demand and existing solutions.
- To research the possibilities of haptic textiles in gamification.
- To develop wearables to enhance performance through the use of gamification solutions, improving the current training model through game-based artificial intelligence engineering and data science for data generation, machine learning and the development of human-machine collaboration systems.
- To develop garments with haptic components for motion sensing and the use of accelerometers combined with other sensing technologies.
Expected results

-
Analysis of the needs in virtual experiences with virtual, augmented or extended reality.
-
Textile elements integrating electronics to react to parameters (accelerometers, haptic actuators and environmental sensors).
-
Smart wearables that enable the interfacing of accelerometers and haptic vibrators for an immersive experience.
-
Development of a textile prototype demonstrator in a virtual environment, with a learning model using artificial intelligence.
