WE ARE REVITALISING THE TEXTILE SECTOR
One of the fundamental strategic axes for AITEX is the revitalisation of the business community in textiles and all other sectors where we represent manufacturers.
The aim is to make the private sector more competitive by finding solutions to new challenges and promoting sustainable industrial growth through a series of actions that promote interaction with different audiences.
With regard to society in general, we are committed to improving the visibility of the sector among different groups, including children and young people by transmitting the importance of the values of a modern, cutting-edge sector with scientific and technological advances in an increasingly sustainable industry.
WE HELP COMPANIES TO BECOME MORE COMPETITIVE
> Bringing knowledge closer to manufacturers through seminars, conferences, courses and training webinars.
> Encouraging contact between companies, manufacturers, specialised consultancies and other entities of interest.
> Promoting, rewarding and disseminating the best projects and initiatives by Spanish companies through the AITEX Business Awards.
> Providing companies with the latest advances in technology and machinery, so that they can carry out tests and produce samples, as well as train their employees.
WE PROMOTE THE TEXTILE SECTOR AMONG CHILDREN
> Organising talks, workshops, conferences and other activities, broadening the channels of collaboration with training centres.
> Holding our annual Science Campus at our facilities, providing free training to the best 3rd and 4th year high school students with the help of AITEX specialists.
> Encouraging students to pursue textile studies by organising competitions to recognise their time and dedication to the sector.
> Running visits to our facilities to show students our scientific and technical expertise in laboratories, innovation and training.
WE SUPPORT UNIVERSITIES IN THEIR TEXTILE TRAINING
> Encouraging young people to take up textile studies by introducing them to the employment opportunities offered by the sector.
> Providing Dual Vocational Training: We promote the Intermediate Level Training Cycle in Production and Finishing of Textile Products, which is taught in Ontinyent, and the Higher Level Textile Training Cycle in Technical Design in Textile and Leather, taught in Alcoy.
> Collaborating with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in the University’s Master’s Degree in Textile Engineering.
> The AITEX-UPV Chair is a key tool to give visibility to the sector within the university environment.
> Motivating students to pursue textile studies by organising competitions to recognise their interest in the sector.
AITEX CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)
WE CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIAL IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SOCIETY
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a core element of AITEX’s strategy and development. We support the United Nations Global Compact and implement all its principles on labour rights, human rights, education and environment. We consider it essential to act responsibly and ethically in all activities affecting our stakeholders. As a sign of this, we carry out and promote environmental actions and sponsor initiatives that are developed for the benefit of society.
DONATIONS AND SOCIAL AID
Every year, we promote the AITEX Programme of Donations to Social Projects and Initiatives, through which we encourage initiatives aimed at helping priority groups and those at risk of social exclusion.
We finance projects by non-profit organisations that work for the benefit of society, favouring the coverage of basic needs and the personal and social support provided by these groups.
SUPPORTING UNICEF’S WORK IN SCHOOLS IN AFRICA AND ASIA
For many years now, the Institute has had an agreement with UNICEF to support their Child Friendly Schools Programme to promote the education of children in Asia and Africa.
The initiative pays special attention to the most vulnerable: children with disabilities, ethnic minorities and those living in remote areas and in extreme poverty. Efforts focus on boosting enrolment in pre-school education, improving the quality of primary education and encouraging the transition to secondary education.
IS TO PROGRESS
This year’s AITEX Challenge had the highest participation rate in history, with more than sixty-four different projects.
The Business Awards are one of the actions instigated by AITEX to promote the dynamisation of the business community in textiles and other sectors.
