SENSORIZED CABIN FOR THE VEHICLE OF THE FUTURE
FUTURE INTERIORS
Motivation
The FUTURE INTERIORS project focuses on developing and integrating innovative solutions that transform the electrical and acoustic systems of vehicle cabins, improving the robustness and waterproofing of connections between PCBs and cables, even in textile-integrated applications. Additionally, it promotes the development of acoustic transducers to enhance sound quality and integration into advanced driver assistance systems, explores sustainable materials such as natural fibers, and incorporates sensor technologies for real-time monitoring, ensuring a safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly interior design.

Objectives
Develop integrated and innovative solutions to improve and make vehicle interiors more sustainable. This will be achieved through the research and optimization of the robustness and waterproofing of PCB-to-cable connections, the design and integration of acoustic transducers in cabins via textile and composite applications, the use of natural fibers to provide sustainable and aesthetic materials, and the incorporation of advanced pressure and light sensors to create intelligent, safe, and efficient interior environments.

Expected results

-
Complete waterproofing and increased robustness of the prototype’s electrical connections.
-
Improvement of the quality and positioning of embroidered acoustic transducers on textile surfaces and verification of their feasibility for inclusion in composites.
-
Development of lightweight and sustainable parts using natural fibers.
-
Enhancement of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) through the integration of lighting systems and pressure sensors in vehicle seats.
-
Final prototype integrating sustainable and technological solutions, manufactured with natural fibers and implementing technologies such as conductive ink printing and embroidery.
