RESEARCH AND DESIGN OF STRATEGIESFOR THE SUSTAINABLE TRANSITION OF THE VALENCIAN TEXTILE INDUSTRY
CIRCULAR COST
Motivation
The project TEXTRANSFER 2024 has identified key regulatory changes for the Valencian textile industry, such as the Ecodesign Directive, the Waste Directive, and the Corporate Social Responsibility Directive. These regulations promote the circular economy, traceability, and resource optimization.
In response to these challenges, the need to develop decision-making methodologies to support the adaptation of textile companies to European regulations was identified. This led to the creation of CIRCULAR COST 2025, a new research line running parallel to TEXTRANSFER 2025.
AITEX will lead this project to generate knowledge on life cycle analysis and associated costs, providing strategic tools to help Valencian companies comply with regulations and strengthen their leadership in sustainability.

Objectives
Promote the sustainability and competitiveness of the textile sector in the Valencian Community by supporting strategic decision-making in the face of new regulations, facilitating the adaptation of the sector.
Expected results

-
A detailed analysis of current and foreseen regulations in the textile sector, identifying opportunities and risks for companies in the Valencian Community.
-
Development and adaptation of a specific Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis tool applicable to textile processes and products.
-
Adjustment of the LCC tool, guaranteeing its applicability and accuracy.
-
Application of the tool in textile companies in the Valencian Community, with the collection of data and feedback for its optimization.
