OEKO-TEX® renews its claim to continue building trust

by

For more than 30 years, OEKO-TEX® has worked to build trust within the textile and leather industry, promoting transparency and enabling companies and consumers to make responsible decisions. This philosophy remains unchanged and is now expressed through a clearer, more coherent and unified visual identity.

The most visible element of this renewal is the new OEKO-TEX® logo, created from a geometric square and an organic circle. These two shapes represent, respectively, the organisation’s scientific approach and the natural environment it seeks to protect. The typography also incorporates forms inspired by natural elements such as leaves, droplets and textile loops.

The colour palette has also been simplified, with the new OEKO-TEX® green taking centre stage, accompanied by black and white. The different product logos are now brought together under a common umbrella brand, creating a more consistent hierarchy. The aim is to make communication easier for certified companies and enhance OEKO-TEX® brand recognition among consumers

A new image, the same values

Beyond an aesthetic change, the new identity aims to communicate the principles that define OEKO-TEX® more directly: clarity, consistency and transparency, together with an active, positive and solution-oriented approach.

The new labelling system has also been designed to be modular, flexible and consistent across the different OEKO-TEX® product brands. According to the organisation, the new identity aims to increase brand awareness, inform consumers and help the industry make responsible decisions.

At AITEX, we carry out laboratory testing and audits within the OEKO-TEX® framework, following its criteria and limit values. In this way, we help ensure that certification processes maintain the rigour associated with OEKO-TEX® standards. OEKO-TEX® labels identify certified products or facilities and include information that enables their verification, reinforcing key principles such as consumer protection, traceability and transparency.

The new identity changes how OEKO-TEX® is represented visually while maintaining the purpose that has guided the organisation for decades: building trust through clear criteria, transparency and assessment based on scientific principles.
