AITEX and REDIT Ventures, a specialised investment vehicle promoted by the eleven technological institutes of REDIT (Network of Technological Institutes of Valencia), have collaborated to create the new technology-based company Honeytex.
The company will manufacture cores from honeycomb materials – an artificial structure with a hexagonal geometric shape – which forms the basis for high-performance, lightweight components and products.

What are honeycombs?
Honeytex combines a proprietary technology that forms the honeycomb core automatically, with the use of recycled and recyclable non-woven materials. Commercially available honeycomb cores are manufactured manually, which limits their applicability in many industries. Automating the manufacturing process will enable their use in the design of parts and products for sectors that demand high performance, low weight and high productivity, such as the automotive and construction industries among many others.
The use of recycled and recyclable materials also makes it possible to meet the sustainability and environmental impact reduction objectives of the target industries, making these materials ideal alternatives to parts and products using materials that are very difficult to recycle or that do not achieve sufficient performance and are replaced by others that significantly increase the weight of the final product.
Honeytex cores can be manufactured in different configurations depending on the required structure and have been industrially validated in different applications.

AITEX’s CEO Vicente Blanes said: “This new project not only validates our technical capabilities and our commitment to innovation and the development of advanced materials, but also motivates us to continue improving and promoting the circular economy in the textile sector. This collaboration means we can now offer cutting-edge technological solutions, which not only meet the highest standards of mechanical performance, but also support a more sustainable future for the textile industry.”
Gonzalo Belenguer, Director of REDIT Ventures added: “The launch of Honeytex by the investment vehicle REDIT Ventures and AITEX, is another example of the positive impact of the Network of Technological Institutes in the Valencian Community and the commitment to the creation of new technology-based companies with high growth potential in the region. This is the fifth company that will contribute to creating high value-added jobs.”
What is Redit Ventures?
A specialised investment vehicle promoted by the 11 Technology Institutes associated with REDIT (Network of Technology Institutes of the Valencian Community) to promote the transfer of technology to the business fabric.
With independent and professionalised management, it does not focus exclusively on investment, but assumes the role of Venture Builder through the identification of technologies, the configuration of the founding team, the creation of companies and subsequent support for their consolidation. In this way, we complement the transfer activity of technology institutes, creating new business fabric based on high technology (Deep Tech).
