On September 20, the EU published the Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 on recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. On September 21, a corrigendum was published to correct some errors detected with the publication of the Regulation.
The new legislation on recycled plastics in contact with food was published on October 10, 2022.
This Regulation repeals Regulation (EC) No. 282/2008.
Rules are set on the introduction of plastic materials; the development and exploitation of recycling technologies, processes and facilities to produce recycled plastic; and the use in contact with food of recycled plastic materials.
