AITEX has produced different biodegradable detergent formulations using natural ingredients:

- Low foaming, fast dispersing formulations designed to work with less water
- New sustainable presentation formats
To develop a range of biodegradable detergent formulations using natural ingredients that do not contain phosphates or petroleum derivatives, and offer enhanced washing efficacy based on low-foaming and fast-dispersing formulations designed to work with less water. New sustainable presentation formats have also been explored, using as little packaging as possible and/or 100% recyclable materials.

New ingredients have been researched and selected from natural mineral and plant sources that are easily biodegradable and do not produce toxic biodegradation products: 100% biobased surfactants, low environmental impact non-sensitising preservatives or allergen-free perfumes.
- From these ingredients, three are technically and economically feasible, Ecolabel-compliant detergent formulations for baby clothes, sensitive skin and concentrates.
- These formulations have been shown to be more than 80% biodegradable (OECD 301F), show no acute ecotoxicity to aquatic organisms and offer similar washing efficiency to conventional detergents.
