The ECORUG project aims to manufacture 100% recyclable carpets and rugs made from polyester materials which can be recycled by shredding, eliminating the costly and time consuming separation process.

In response to the need for new high-performance, functionalised textile materials, AITEX focuses its research on development of innovative solutions that provide functional properties to the user’s skin and on the development of non-wovens using environmentally friendly technologies

LIGHTCOMP 2020 aims to develop functional lightweight composites with properties including heating, lighting and even the ability to measure physical parameters using integrated sensors.

The main objective is to identify the training needs of the textile sector and provide a joint academic response at European level to the needs of the clothing and fashion industries.

In response to the needs and challenges that this change represents for the textile sector, AITEX has created a Technical Unit for Sustainability and Circular Economy that will work transversally along three lines of action: R+D, Laboratories and Training.

On the 25th of November, the BIOSEA project held a workshop looking at the social and economic future for algae.

The project aims to support collaboration between Europe’s SMEs in the textile, clothing, footwear and leather sectors (TCLF sectors), and technology centres or companies.

The Workshop Contract “Creating ideas, applying trends” was held on the 2nd of December at ATEVAL in Ontinyent.
