AITEX is taking part with its own space at Casa Decor 2026, the leading national showcase for interior design, architecture and décor.
The Research and Innovation Centre AITEX is once again taking part this year in Casa Decor, this time with its own space that demonstrates how research and technological development can be genuinely integrated into interior design and contemporary living environments. Its presence at this prestigious national exhibition reinforces the visibility of the innovation generated at AITEX within Spain’s leading design forums.
Under the name “The Listening Bar”, the AITEX space is conceived as a sensory experience that invites visitors to pause, listen and feel. Designed by architect and designer Mariana Paccieri, the project transforms the act of listening to music into an immersive experience, where sound becomes a tangible element that dialogues with interior design, light and textures. Visitors do not simply walk through the space – they experience it through a deep emotional and sensory connection with their surroundings.

Inside the space, AITEX showcases seven technological demonstrators and R&D prototypes, developed at its facilities in Alcoy, highlighting real-life applications of innovative textile materials in areas such as acoustics, sustainability, comfort and functionality. These developments illustrate how research can coexist with design and provide solutions that enhance experience and well-being in inhabited spaces.
AITEX showcases seven technological demonstrators
Wall cladding
This material has been developed from recycled textile waste, transformed into a decorative and functional wall covering. Composed of 90% textile and 10% cork, it combines sustainability, design and circular economy, offering solutions for walls with aesthetic value and potential acoustic applications. A clear example of giving textile waste a second life.

Japanese panel
A decorative panel made from recycled textile fibres, transformed into a lightweight, stable and visually attractive material. Its clean and contemporary aesthetic makes it ideal for interior design, visual merchandising and temporary spaces. It reflects how innovation can turn waste into high-quality decorative solutions.

Honeycomb wall
A structural panel formed by a honeycomb structure made from recycled textiles. Its geometry provides lightness and rigidity while maintaining a sustainable approach. This demonstrator showcases the potential of recycled textiles in architectural and interior design applications beyond traditional uses.

Natural silk sculpture
A sculpture made from natural silk dyed with plant-based dyes, notable for its lightness and movement. The sustainable dyeing process and the fluidity of the material allow the creation of organic forms that evoke sound and vibration. This demonstrator brings together craftsmanship, sustainability and aesthetic experimentation.

ARTE rug
This rug is a relief textile surface created using advanced tufting techniques that allow play with volumes, textures and geometries. The tufting technology generates no waste or fabric offcuts during production. The result is a highly aesthetic and sensory piece, fully customisable. It demonstrates how textile innovation can offer new visual and tactile experiences in interior design.

Sofa with wireless charging
AITEX presents a sofa that incorporates wireless charging for mobile devices directly into the fabric, without altering its aesthetics or comfort. The technology is integrated through conductive threads embroidered into the textile, making the electronics invisible and accessible. An example of how textiles can transform furniture into smart, connected elements.

3D chess pieces
This demonstrator showcases the possibilities of 3D printing applied to art and design, through chess pieces manufactured using high-precision resins. They stand out for their level of detail, refined finish and durability. A clear example of how additive manufacturing enables the creation of decorative and functional objects with great creative freedom and high quality.

The design of this space was conceived with the intention of transforming listening into an intimate, deep and sensory experience. The Listening Bar proposes a place where sound becomes a tangible material and interior design dialogues with music to create an enveloping atmosphere. Geometry, texture and light combine to build a contemporary refuge for those seeking to pause, enjoy and reconnect.
By combining research and creativity, technology and sensitivity, The Listening Bar invites visitors to discover a new way of inhabiting space through sound. A place where music, materials and emotion intertwine to deliver a sensory experience that lingers in the memory.
The materials used not only provide technical functionality, but also open up new aesthetic possibilities, demonstrating that sustainability can coexist with sophistication and elevate spaces towards a new kind of responsible luxury.
