Advanced manufacturing, smart textiles and digitalisation/Circular economy and sustainability
STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITALIZATION STRATEGIES FOR THE OPTIMIZATION OF CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN THE TEXTILE SECTOR
IA4TEX
Motivation
The circular economy in the textile sector aims to replace the traditional “take, make, dispose” model with a regenerative system, promoting strategies such as durable design, repair, remanufacturing, and the recycling and reuse of textiles. Textile recycling is crucial, but its effectiveness depends on identifying and applying the appropriate methods for each type of material. A precise diagnosis is essential to optimize resources, reduce costs, ensure the quality of recycled products, improve environmental sustainability, and foster innovation.
The integration of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, and digitalization (IoT), is transforming the textile industry by enhancing material classification, optimizing processes, and enabling real-time monitoring. These tools increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve product quality, and help reduce environmental impact, supporting the transition to a more sustainable circular economy.

Objectives
The objective of the IA4TEX project is to conduct an environmental analysis to develop and implement an advanced diagnostic system based on artificial intelligence and digitalization. This system aims to optimize the textile recycling process, thus promoting an effective transition towards a sustainable circular economy in the sector.

Value and competitive advantage

-
Provide companies in the sector with a solid foundation of innovative tools that enhance traceability, real-time monitoring, and material classification.
-
Comprehensive optimization of production processes, reducing operational costs, and increasing efficiency.
Obtained results
