PROTOTYPING AND VALIDATION OF THE NEW GENERATION OF HONEYCOMBS ON A SEMI-INDUSTRIAL SCALE
HONEYTEX 2022
Motivation
High-performance honeycombs are relatively expensive, while lower-priced alternatives fall short of the necessary mechanical performance. In addition, most of the honeycombs available today are difficult to recycle. Improving these limitations is the main motivation for the research and development of a new generation of fully recyclable honeycombs with a more competitive price/performance ratio.

Objectives
- Optimisation of the development process for honeycombs on a semi-industrial scale with the demonstrator equipment.
- Development of the new generation at semi-industrial scale for validation and use in sectors such as construction, automotive and naval.
- Exploratory line of development of high-performance honeycombs for the aeronautical and aerospace sectors is also envisaged.
Expected results

-
Optimisation of the honeycomb development process on a semi-industrial scale with the demonstrator equipment.
-
Development of new honeycombs with the necessary characteristics for application in sectors such as construction, automotive and shipbuilding.
-
Validation of honeycombs to comply with current regulations of the target sectors.
-
Exploration of the development of new, high-performance honeycombs for the aeronautics and aerospace sector.
