Sports and leisure

Textiles are of prime importance in sport and leisure activities and AITEX is constantly striving to improve wearer comfort in all sports disciplines, including the degree of protection offered by the material in extreme weather conditions and the ergonomic improvements the product represents to the sportsman.
Lines of R & D:
Technical fibres for the management of comfort
The development and use of hollow or biocomponent fibres whose core is made up of a polymer that is soluble in an aqueous medium, as well as the use of special transversal sections which improve the transportation of moisture.

New finishes for comfort management
Study of new finishes and the degree to which they interfere with and/or favour comfort properties in terms of the feel and thermo-physiological comfort of a textile.
Study and validation of the functions of finished textile substrates (dual laminates, triple laminates, foam materials…) and finished garments from the perspective of physical comfort (feel) and thermal comfort (sensation of heat/cold, breathability, moisture management, thermal insulation…).

Physical and thermal comfort in textile items
The features of simple and compound textile substrates (dual laminates, triple laminates, foam…) and finished garments are studied from the perspective of physical comfort (feel) and thermal comfort (sensation of cold/heat, breathability, management of moisture, thermal insulation…)

Nanofinishes
The inclusion of nanotechnology in finished products allows new or improved functions and features to be obtained. The nano-dispersal of functional particles affords greater penetration in textile fibres, as well as greater anchorage and durability.

Hydrogel technology
Hydrogels are elastic three-dimensional polymers that are either natural or synthetic in origin, characterised by their extraordinary capacity to absorb water and/or different fluids in their polymer structure without dissolving.

Development of products based on trends
Research based on the quantification of similar and potential consumers for each trend and the application of strategies with a view to responding to these consumers, identified through trends.

Lines of Innovation:
Health textiles: study and quantification in the fields of microbiology, analytical chemistry and textile physics
This area offers advice and consultancy services to help textile industries make a commitment to this sector and this industry as an alternative to traditional textiles.

Simulation of the influence of rain
The aim is to create a real simulation of the influence of rain on garments designed to protect against this risk, using a flow of 450 l/m2h, also reproducing, therefore, the effect of the mechanical energy of drops of rain falling from a great height, thereby achieving high energy drops.

Evaluation of thermal insulation in critical wind conditions.
Thermal insulation studies carried out on garments, under critical wind, temperature and moisture conditions.

Design of tailor-made products
Design of finished garments, based on the exact determination of measurements obtained by scanning the human body. This process allows companies to make items that are bespoke to the user and in the required design.

made in Green
“made in Green” is both a certificate and a label which, by controlling product traceability, ensures:
- The absence of substances that are harmful to HEALTH
- Respect for the ENVIRONMENT
- Respect for the HUMAN RIGHTS OF WORKERS
