BIOTECNOLOGY
Biotechnology is a new strategic line that AITEX is investigating focusing on the development of new textile materials via the technical application of biological systems and living organisms or their derivatives, in order to create or modify products and/or processes within clearly determined areas of application.
Biotechnology is an inter-disciplinary technology, which is characterised by the marriage of concepts and methodologies that come from numerous other scientific fields and their subsequent application to basic research such as practical problem solving and the production new materials and products.
From a commercial and industrial point of view, the range of uses could be said to be enormous, covering such diverse fields as; pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, vaccines, hormones and gene therapy to health diagnostics, environmental protection and the modification of finishing processes. |
