This department also offers a complete testing and assessment service for all textile products designed to be used in medicine and hygiene, to ensure that they comply with current legislation.
The sale of these medical textiles is regulated by Royal Decree 414/1996 (replacing Directive 93/42/EEC) on health products, Royal Decree 634/1993 on active implantable health products (replacing Directive 90/385/EEC) and Royal Decree 1662/2000 on health diagnostic products - in vitro - (replacing Directive 98/79/EEC), and the EC seal must be granted before they can be marketed within the EU.
