What is certified?

This certification is primarily aimed at textiles designed to be used in situations where a prolonged exposure to UV radiation is to be expected; swimwear, caps, sportswear etc as well as textiles used in sun shades, like awnings and umbrellas etc
 
Therefore the articles are classified in 2 groups:
 Class 1: Clothing.
Class 11: Sun shades
Many companies have expressed an interest in the problems generated by the dangers of over exposure of textiles to UV radiation. Witness the fact that in 2005, 6 different levels of certification were drawn up.
STANDARDS UPON WHICH THE CERTIFICATION IS BASED
  • Australian-New Zealand: AS/NZS 4399- 1996
  • British: BS 7914-1998
  • American: 183-1998
  • European: - CEN Draft- 1998
  • EN 13758 2000.

PARAMETERS ANALYSED:

Factor de protección ultravioleta (UPF) en distintas condiciones.

  • Pilling

  • Dry cleaning
  • Sunlight
  • Stretching
