EC SEAL FOR GEOTEXTILES AND GEOSYINTHETICS BARRIERS Geotextiles, geosynthetic barriers and related products are considered to be articles manufactured with the aim of being permanently incorporated into buildings and construction projects and therefore fall within Directive 89/106/EEC relative to construction materials, subsequently modified by Directive 93/68/EEC. This implies that geotextiles, realted products and geosynthetic must carry the EC seal, which guarantees that the product meets all requirements specified in the relevant directives. The articles displaying this seal can be freely distributed throughout the EU.
The EC seal for geotextiles and related products has been obligatory since October 2002. |
