COLOUR FASTNESS, AGEING IN SUNLIGHT Imagen de muestra

The aim of this method is the evaluation of the behaviour of a material when exposed to artificial sunlight which simulates real light conditions (UV, visible and infrared). A xenon arc light is used as the source and the evaluation test can simulate temperature, humidity, light cycles, rain etc. The equipment used is the Xenotest, or Weather-Ometer.

  UV 2000 AGEING

This equipment can simulate certain atmospheric ageing conditions in the U.V. range. As real natural ageing tests are obviously long term projects, it is often necessary to obtain detailed information and data more quickly and in a form that can be easily reproduced. The samples are exposed to solar U.V, heat, humidity etc and the process can be carried out on a range between 313nm and 340nm, depending on the type of luminous tube employed in the test.

  AGEING IN CLIMATE CHAMBERS

The behaviour of articles is studied (dimensional stability, colour or shine fastness, etc) when the sample is exposed to varying cycles of temperature or humidity in specific climate chambers in the absence of light. The laboratory has different high capacity chambers that can perform tests at temperatures of between 70 to 180oC and at a controlled humidity of between 10% to 98% to submit the samples to extreme conditions.

This allows the performance of saline cloud tests (NSS), acetic saline cloud (AASS) and cupro-acetic saline cloud tests (AASS) and can evaluate corrosion resistance of metals with or without temporary or permanent rustproofing. Saline cloud tests are particularly useful for the detection of porousity defects or any other type of rustproofing dysfunction in anodic or conversion layers applied to metallic surfaces.
