Acoustics and vibration
In accordance with the new Technical Code for Buildings (TCB), new basic quality, safety and habitation regulations have been established for buildings and premises. This change fits in with new strategies for economic, environmental and energy consumption sustainability and guarantees the existence of safer, more habitable, more sustainable and higher quality buildings. This regulation, together with that which is developing the new noise pollution regulations, is the driving force behind vibro-accoustic controls in buildings, environment and industry, as well as creating an increase in the demands placed upon the vibro-accoustic properties of building materials.
The most important experiments include:
The measurement of acoustic absorbtion in a reverberation chamber.
The determination of the acoustic absorbtion coefficient and acoustic impedence in impedence tubes.
The determination of acoustic insulation.
Etc.
