| About AITEX |
Credentials and certificatesAITEX, in accordance with their quality policy has, during the year 2006 retained the credentials and certificates already achieved:
Thanks to the latter credential given by ENAC, the Institute has been allowed by the Head Office of the Industry and Applied Industrial Research, Commerce and Tourism Department to act as a Control Organization (OCA) in the field of inspection of atmospheric emissions.
As well as this, AITEX also has achieved the following recognitions:
Laboratory approved by AENOR to carry out tests aimed at obtaining the European Ecological Label according to Decree 96/304/CE.
The title of Suitability as a Collaborating Company of Organizations on the subject of sewage dumping control by the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Environment. The only Spanish Laboratory appointed to grant companies the label which guarantees the absence of harmful substances in a textile product, Öko-Tex Standard 100, and the ecological label which guarantees that the place where it is produced observes all current environmental legislation, Öko-Tex Standard 1000. Certified Control Organisation number 0161 for the certification procedures planned by Board 89/686/CE regarding Individual Protection Equipment. AITEX, as a support instrument to textile companies, also keeps up to date with textile regulations that can affect the sector, participating in updating and development on decision-taking committees, taking part in the different national and international work groups and reporting the associate companies’ concerns, with the aim of obtaining a feasible solution. AITEX is a member of several technical committees related to the textile sector.

At the same time, the Institute is a member of the Spanish Association of Fire Laboratories (A.E.L.A.F.), taking part in the work groups of fire reaction and research and development. AITEX is a member of the Technical Committee of Certification AEN/CTC-011, founded in September 1999, concerning passive protection against fire, in which, apart from the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the Ministry Responsible for Public Works and Buildings, the Town Councils of Barcelona,
