AITEX y la empresa MAQUIA SERVEIS AMBIENTALS, S.L. han desarrollado un proyecto en colaboración que ha consistido en incorporar tecnología RFID a aves mediante la utilización de marcas alares textiles, de forma que puedan ser identificadas tanto visual como automáticamente. Para ello se ha adaptado una tecnología diseñada para entornos industriales y logísticos para que pueda ser utilizada como herramienta en la conservación medioambiental.
AITEX, in accordance with their quality policy has, during the year 2006 retained the credentials and certificates already achieved:
Certification ER-1256/1999, by the Organization of Certification AENOR following the model UNE-EN ISO 9001: 2000, for the services of training, consultancy of quality management systems, fire, water and mud behaviour tests, as well as physical and chemical tests for textile products and accessories, and financial support management for the development of projects and courses.
Credentials to show the technical competence as a Tests Laboratory according to standard UNE-EN-ISO/IEC 17025: 2000 by ENAC –National Organisation of Credentials, in the following fields:
Textile Products: composition, solidity, individual protection children and sleeping bags. Credential number 12/LE025.
Fire behaviour: Reaction to fire of construction materials, furniture inflammability, bed linen inflammability, Credential number 12/LE045.
Drinking water and sewage: physical-chemical tests. Credential number 12/LE427.
“Geotextiles and related products”, physical tests. Credential number 12/LE813.
As a type A inspection company in the field of atmospheric emissions. according to the parameters: combustion gasses, opacity and particles. Credential 83/EI127.
Thanks to the latter credential given by ENAC, the Institute has been allowed by the Head Office of the Industry and Applied Industrial Research, Commerce and Tourism Department to act as a Control Organization (OCA) in the field of inspection of atmospheric emissions.
As well as this, AITEX also has achieved the following recognitions:
Laboratory approved by AENOR to carry out tests aimed at obtaining the European Ecological Label according to Decree 96/304/CE.
The title of Suitability as a Collaborating Company of Organizations on the subject of sewage dumping control by the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Environment.
The only Spanish Laboratory appointed to grant companies the label which guarantees the absence of harmful substances in a textile product, Öko-Tex Standard 100, and the ecological label which guarantees that the place where it is produced observes all current environmental legislation, Öko-Tex Standard 1000.
Certified Control Organisation number 0161 for the certification procedures planned by Board 89/686/CE regarding Individual Protection Equipment.
AITEX, as a support instrument to textile companies, also keeps up to date with textile regulations that can affect the sector, participating in updating and development on decision-taking committees, taking part in the different national and international work groups and reporting the associate companies’ concerns, with the aim of obtaining a feasible solution. AITEX is a member of several technical committees related to the textile sector.
At a national level:
AEN / CTN 40 textile materials, on the subcommittees of solidity, physical tests, textile covering, chemical tests, fire behaviour, geotextiles and fishing nets and rope works. AEN / CTN 23 Construction materials, on the subcommittees of reaction to fire.

CEN / TC 162 Protection Equipment, for the work groups of protective clothes and gloves. CEN / TC 248 Textiles, for the work groups of upholstery fabrics and safety in children’s wear.

At the same time, the Institute is a member of the Spanish Association of Fire Laboratories (A.E.L.A.F.), taking part in the work groups of fire reaction and research and development. AITEX is a member of the Technical Committee of Certification AEN/CTC-011, founded in September 1999, concerning passive protection against fire, in which, apart from the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the Ministry Responsible for Public Works and Buildings, the Town Councils of Barcelona,
